Referring to your despatch No. 173 of the 3rd. August, I have the honour to state that I concur in your suggestion that this Colony should adopt the rule that when an officer or man of His Majesty's Forces is reported missing payments of Civil salary may be continued for a period of six months from the date on which the casualty is believed to have occurred.
